Enter Trade Discount Option

Many of your vendors may offer you a trade discount on some of the items

you purchase. Use the Enter Trade Discount option to enter the percentage

of the trade discount offered on a selected line. This option is for use when

you are using the scrolling line list since there is no field displayed to enter a

trade discount, or when you are using the line detail window where the Trade

Disc % field is disabled.

In addition to the discount on this line, you may also receive a trade discount

on the purchase order as a whole. Enter a global trade discount percentage

on the Purchase Order Totals screen. A global trade discount overrides any

line discounts, with the exception of those that have been locked using the

Lock/Unlock Entered Cost from Recost option. However, a line discount that

is entered after a global discount overrides the global discount.

When you select the Enter Trade Discount option from the Line Options

window, the Trade Discount window opens displaying the line number and

item code, as well as the unit cost and the extended amount of the selected

line. It also allows you to enter a trade discount percentage in the Trade

Disc % field up to five digits, including three decimal places. After entering

a trade discount, the cursor returns to the current line on the Purchase Order

Lines screen.
