Assembly

NOTE:This lawn mower is shipped without gasoline or oil in

the engine. Fill up the gasoline and oil as instructed in the

accompanying engine manual BEFORE operating your mower.

Handles

The lower handle has two flat ends with three holes each, one

small and two large. The upper handle has indented ends with

one hole and may have the blade control attached. See Fig. 3-1.

NOTE:Use the hardware in Group 1 to attach the lower handle.

1. Placethe lower handle over the handle bracket assemblies

and position each bracket stud into the top or bottom hole.

See Fig. 3-2.

2_ Secure with the star knobs. Eachside of the lower handle

must be positioned onto the stud at the same position.

UpperHandle

NOTE:Use the hardware in Group 2 to attach the upper handle.

1. Placethe upper handle in position over the lower handle

keeping the blade control (if attached) facing up.

2. Secure the upper handle to the lower handle using the

carriage bolts and star knobs. See Fig. 3-3. Make sure that

the carriage bolt heads go on the outside of the handle.

If satisfied with the height of the handle, tighten the star

knobs atthe ends of the lower handle shown in Fig. 3-2.

For convenience of operation, you may adjust the handle

height as follows:

a. Remove the star knobs shown in Fig. 3-2 and remove

the lower handle.

b. Position each handle bracket stud into the

appropriate hole in the lower handle. Eachend

of the lower handle must be placed in the same

position on the mounting brackets.

c. Reattach and tighten the star knobs.

Blade Control

NOTE: If the blade control is secured and in place on the upper

handle, you may skip the following three steps. If, however, the

blade control became displaced either during shipping or during

assembly, reattach it as follows:

1. Insert the curved end of the blade control into the center

hole located on the right side of the upper handle. See Fig.

3-4.

Gently squeeze the blade control inward and insert the

straight end into the lower hole located on the left side of

the upper handle. See Fig. 3-4.
